Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sevan
On a baking hot afternoon, Kash and Sevan arrived in front of a beautiful Ealing house. We called Miss V's number as requested and were given instructions on how to enter her flat by cracking the keysafe and then entering the door with the huge pink number on it.
On the other side, we passed through a mirror and fell into an opulent world of showbiz and magic. Miss V couldn't walk as she had a purple plaster cast on her leg, so instead she glided around in her wheelchair directing us on what tasks needed to be done.
Through the doorway to the garden, we found more mirrors which we looked at but didn't dare get too close to. There was also a Buddha waiting to guide us on our journey of nourishing the pot plants that lived and recovering those past their best. When I say pot plants you might imagine a small collection on a balcony, however we were surrounded by pots and plants of all sizes... we were awed by their numbers even though Miss V claimed to be a novice gardener. Once we had our commands, Miss V slipped back into the kitchen.
Kash and I dutifully got to work, sprinkling enchanted feed pellets into each pot then spraying each one with water, then Kash moved on to shielding the plants with less magical, more deadly slug killer.
While we were working, two enormous gin glasses full of ice and cucumber appeared in Miss V's hands. At this moment we knew Miss V and her house were something special.
With the ginless water consumed, we moved on to deadheading, followed by a couple of special requests. Firstly, moving the garden table set, which we quickly ticked off the list. Next up, and most strange, was the snail that had been cemented to the ceiling along Miss V's coving which was over 3 metres up. I didn't have any spells or potions to unstick it, so I used a stout broom handle instead which worked a treat.
With all the tasks completed, we said our goodbyes to Miss V and passed out of the doorway and back to the regular world where we jogged on to our next mission.
