Report written by Allison Randell
Having been to the wonderful Borough food cooperative a few times I was able to show Gemma who was new to this mission the ropes... we spent some time restocking the shelves, tidying the crates, and enjoyed putting the shopping through the tills.. beep beep! What was the code for milk again?! Unfortunately, the FareShare delivery didn't show up whilst we were there so we couldn't help unload the crates, but I know we'll be both be back to help again soon!
The Borough Food Cooperative opened in October 2020. With help from organisations like FareShare, the Borough Food Cooperative acts as a subsidized supermarket, offering members to stop in and pick up £15-£20 worth of groceries for £4.50. The Cooperative is open during lockdown to provide essential supplies to local households
