This lunchtime, I was reunited with old friend and GoodGym legend Dom to help move around some furniture for Mr M so that a hospital bed could be moved in for him.

At the property we met with the occupational therapist, who was wonderfully helpful with directing us and letting us know what we had to do.

The original mission was to move out a single bed and mattress to outside the property so that a hospital bed could be moved in. However, Mr M communicated with us what he would prefer to keep the existing bed and move it into a different room. However what sounded like a simple task was slightly difficult as the headboard needed to come off. Luckily Dom was armed with a cycling multitool that did the trick and we had it moved and tucked away safely in no time.

As we were on our way out the hospital bed arrived so we helped to get that into place, then Mr M decided he'd like to also get rid of his old sofa. The sofa came out of the back door easily enough, however we had to get it to over-head height to get it over the back wall of the garden and to the bin area. As Dom put it, there was a brief moment when he thought we may all end up in hospital, but it worked out in the end 😊

Big shout out to Dom, who joined the 500 club recently and showed me up with all his clear problem solving and over head sofa lifting 👑
