Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

I first need to start this report with a massive well done to Chris Lewis - despite coming to GoodGym Bristol for a long long time (47 runs and counting!), this is the first pun for the run report that he's ever come up with!

With two new people at GoodGym, I wanted this run to go smoothly and appear to be the well oiled machine of exercise and volunteering that's been perfected over the last couple of years in Bristol. Sadly, it didn't quite go to plan...

It started well with a swift run from the Folk House to Kings Square. It had stopped raining (thanks, weather gods) and everyone was bounding along. But then we couldn't find our contact, Sara. Two brave souls split from the group and pelted off to two likely sites but returned empty handed and Sara-less. So we chuntered up to a small garden that we'd been to before with Sara, and whilst waiting for her to turn up, the gang ran up and down a steep flight of steps that were handily near by, several times.

A few phone calls later and we located Sara - she was a few hundred metres away on a different road! So we pelted off to go and find her. Phew.

Sara, from Incredible Edible, asked us to split in to two groups. One group were weeding some flower beds in a central reservation on the busy Stokes Croft road - she asked us to ensure that we always kept our backs to a near by pub called the Full Moon - hence the cunning punning!

The other group (the Marlborough Hill gang) went off to another near by park area for more weeding action. So far, so good!

The Stokes Croft group got their weeding done super fast, so when Sara reappeared and asked us to run off to another site to dump the weeds on to a compost heap, we jumped at the chance to keep moving in the cold winters night. Sara told us where to find the other posse, and off we went.

Unbeknownst to that group, the other group had finished their task and decided to come and find us - but we'd run away and in fact were shortly going to start looking for the Marlborough Hill gang. In almost Scooby-Doo fashion, both team were running around looking for each other before concluding that it would be best to head back to the Folk House and meet back there instead.

Once back, still in two groups, we had a good stretch and reminded ourselves that chaos does not usually reign at GoodGym! Good work gang, thanks for coming everyone!

Sorry that there's just one photo and it's a bit crap! I can't upload any others! I'm on the case though!

Intrigued, why did you have to keep your backs to the pub?
