Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by anne malcolm
This was the second time GoodGym had been called upon to help Mr H. Last summer, Anne and Liz moved a sofa to Mr H's bedroom to create space for a hospital bed in the living room. At that time, the sofa was placed on top of Mr H's original bed to prevent him sleeping in it in favour of the new hospital bed.
Since then, Mr H's health has sadly deteriorated further and his daughter required the help of GoodGym to move the sofa once again, this time to make the bedroom available for a 24hr live-in carer.
The original brief was to remove the sofa from the property and take it down to the car park for collection. However, after outlining the task to GoodGym HQ, Mr H's daughter had been able to call past her dad's flat to measure the sofa and realised there was enough space to accommodate both bed and sofa in the bedroom.
So, on arrival, Kenny and Anne were given a revised brief, which required them to simply clear some floorspace in the bedroom and set the sofa down alongside the bed. There was even just enough room to squeeze the chest of drawers and bedside table back into place and make the room usable once more.
This was all very easily done in no time at all and Mr H's daughter was pleased to be one step closer to having her dad safely back home with the care he needs.
