Mr G was back on his feet after last week’s illness and back on good form. Conversation was the usual eclectic mix covering religion, fashion, sales techniques and his most recent thoughts on displaying his artwork.

Things were mostly straightforward in the supermarket but a dilemma at the till when one of the yogurt pots split open. Should I deliver a reduced quota to Mr G, or collect a replacement from the shelves? Instantaneous decision: carton emissions did not justify carton omissions. I managed to jog across the store to the fridge section and back to the till just fast enough to avoid it timing out on me.
