Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tabitha Skinner
Kieran from Watling Residents Association was there to greet us and show us the tools. The gardens were full of weeds and the wooden borders had almost disappeared among the long grass. We set to work reinstating the borders and removing the weeds from one of the beds. Luckily resident Stuart was on hand to point out the difference between a plant and a weed as some of us had no clue! Other that the rosemary and mint- as they had a lovely scent. The local residents were playing music and dancing in the car park, it was great to be entertained while we worked.
Along with filling two huge bags, we found an old DVD and an empty bottle of ginger wine-someone had obviously been having a great time in the flower beds! We weeded for well over an hour, then helped pack the tools up and promised to be back!
Watling Residents would love us to come back, the Dementia garden needs alot of weeding and we didn't have time to finish it all in one session
