Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Dickson
Yep Monday evening and it's pouring down. Does it stop the Bexley Goodgymers? No, we had a run and a good deed to do and we weren't going to let a little rain put us off!! Today we had help with our warm up from a big friendly tree who provided good cover as we braved the wind and rain that was now pretty servere 😂. We man'd and woman'd up, set our Garmins, and we were off.
There's nothing like a good head wind to keep you going.
There's nothing like a good head wind to keep you going, this and great conversation as we dodged the puddles to get to our task. Our task tonight was helping our friends at the animal protection charity in Bexleyheath sort through donations.
On arrival we were greeted by Karri and a drink and 40 donation bags to sort out. It was quickly all hands on deck as we formed our production line and made easy work of the task in hand.
With a lovely chat and conversation with our host on their plans for their shops and the promise of us helping them as much as we could with their goals it was time to brace the weather again 😩 There was only one thing for it. Our training for the night was sprinting, and by sprinting I mean getting back to base by our designated route as quickly as we could. We always use a looping system with this exercise so no one is ever left behind. Sprints make you a stronger runner and really take you out of your comfort zone, and most the time lets you know how much you can actually do. So if you've been reading our posts and thinking about coming along and joining us we'd love to meet you.
Have an awesome week everyone.
