Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Danny
Travelling from afar today we came bearing the gift of a Good Deed - to move some furniture about a flat in Crouch Hill so that Mr T could come back out of hospital.
We didn't quite traverse 'field, fountain, moor and mountainโ on our journeys, variously coming via the Northern Line and Parkland Walk โ but the latter was kind-of a swamp today, so perhaps could be counted as an adventure of sorts.
With no 'yonder starโ for guidance I wandered around the estate like a wally for about 10 mins in search of the correct building, meeting and greeting all manner of folk in the process - Manu and Rupesh found it immediately. ๐
Our gift / Good Deed was to move an armchair upstairs, and a divan bed down so that when discharged from hospital, our host could sleep on the ground floor. His kind friend was there to greet and instruct us.
Being rather lightweight, the furniture was very straightforward to manage, so as we moved the bits about we were left to ponder some of the unusual decorative features about the place. Credit for the speed also falls to Mr. Tโs friend whoโd done plenty of prep before we arrived and so softened the ground for us considerably.
Our task complete and back outside, we realised we lacked the three-sided coin necessary to decide who was to write the Run Report, so a hasty (and pretty exciting) game of paper/scissors/stone left the task to you-know-who; which has left you the reader to endure these somewhat ham-handed and tenuous allusions to a heretofore much-loved festive song โ youโre most welcome!
Photo credits to Rupesh for those indoors, and Manu whose iPhone case had a handy kick-stand for effortless self-timer photos.
