Weed love to come back and finish the job!
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Saturday, 8th of September 2018
Here's what Mrs J of E9 had to say about the mission:
Mrs J wanted to pass on her thanks to the runners for their 'fantastic' work in her garden and said she'll be more able to get outside now because of it. Well done!
Lucy, Anne and I paid a visit to Mrs J to help clear her garden.
Mrs J is a GoodGym coach, who was enjoying her weekly visit at the time so we were delighted to have a 4th GoodGymer join our mission crew.
Under the watchful eye of Alice the cat we tackled the forest of weeds which had taken over the paving, tidied the ivy growing over the fence and cut back 2 rose bushes.
We spent around 1h 45m in the garden, filling 5 garden bags in the process.
The large garden had become over run with weeds over the summer. Given the scale of the task and time available we agreed to focus on clearing the area closest to the front door as a priority. With the back of the garden to be tackled on another visit.
We hope that another GoodGym mission can be scheduled soon so that Mrs J can enjoy her garden to it’s full potential
