Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Share the love

Last night’s run met at the ever intriguing Red Brick Warehouse, a space located at the back of Cambridge Heath Road. There were a fair few of us in the group, somewhere between 21-19, which we are still to confirm even after 3 rounds of name shouting and number crunching. All 21-19 of us set off into the sunny evening, running the 3k route down to our old haunt, Stepney City Farm. As ever Katherine was thrilled to see us, armed and ready with 3 different tasks for the group.

"All 21-19 of us set off into the sunny evening"

The largest group headed up to the, yes you guessed it, compost heap, where they were greeted by the lovely Neil, who manages all compost heaps at the farm. Neil was very excited to finally meet the Good Gym volunteers who leave his heaps looking refreshed every week.

"a bit of obligatory goat stroking"

The second and third groups were based down at the veg patch, weeding and spreading some freshly chipped wood along the pathways and generally sprucing the space up for visitors. After a bit of obligatory goat stroking (not a euphemism) we said goodbye to the farm and were off again, taking a 3.7km route back to our meeting point, winding our way through Mile End Park and back along the sunny banks of the canal.
