A little bit of home and field at the prairie

Monday night can only mean one thing ! GoodGym night.

It was a stunner of an evening for a nice outdoor weeding task.

Ricky and I took a slightly extended run to Homefield Park whilst Sue, John and Barbara took a leisurely walk there. Gillybean and Anne met us there. It was so nice to see Barbara back on her feet after a recent hamstring tear.

Last autumn we all spent some time weeding some new beds that the rangers subsequently filled in a plethora of Prairie style plants. 8 months on we were requested to return to the beds to weed them .... and oh my goodness how they had grown and who knew that weeding could be so confusing too!

We were true to the title pun - weeding in the dark - Or in other words we couldn't tell the weeds from the grass ! However we did our very best to, and are pretty confident we succeeded (only a few incidences of re planting of mistaken weeds took place! )

After nearly 90 minutes we do hope we made an impression on the beautiful beds ( judging by the huge pile of debris we did ( we'ed did it - ha ha ) but its fair to say there are a lot more hours needed to get it it back to best.

See you all next week at one of our favourites, Heene Cemetery.
