Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
For the first time ever we had a last minute task cancellation, so there was no painting and no clean tshirt competition....however, there was still 1km time trials much to the groups joy :-D
Aston Mansfield Charity stepped up to the challenge of hosting us at short notice, so we hot footed it through the jungle that is Stratford Westfield down to Forest Gate. The plan was to clean stacks of tables and chairs in the community centre; everyone jumped in and we set up a little conveyor belt of cleaners and dryers mixed in with chewing gum pickers. (The paint brushes were sorely missed).
The monotony of our chair factory was overcome once the swing dance crew rocked up and started busting some moves to a catchy soundtrack...it's fair to say we were pretty damn impressed. (I saw a couple of you do a sneaky shuffle or two after) We cracked on and I don't quite know how many chairs we gave a good scrub down but I'll say at least 100 because it sounds good.... Yeah, 100+ kind of sparkly chairs.
Ok so time for the run, seen as we had a route change the 1km was a newbie for all, although it worked out better as the was know need to pray the traffic lights turned green around the last 300m. As always staggered starts - although I must say you guys are chasing down one another's times nicely, so we may not need as many groups soon.
Timekeeper Smith set off first along with trusty companions Carol and Alice (reunited for a consecutive week-amazing); as always the group steamed through and several P.B's were challenged yet again. As a result of this great pacing, I say we all enter the City of London mile Get in quick, entries close 2/6/15
See you next week A-team,
Kirsty
