Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sevan
Kash and Sevan's second visit to Mr S started with a cheery greeting 👋. Mr S said that he was more prepared for them this time. Last time, the GoodGymers had cleared half of the garden of Kash-height grass and weeds. This time, Mr S' trusty Flymo was ready to go again and he'd bought a new spool of wire for his strimmer... all we had to do was make it work.
Sevan took the mower this time and Kash the strimmer. All was fine until the strimmer wire broke and more couldn't be bumped out. Cue 30 minutes of Mr S and Kash trying to fix it 🪛.
After a while, Mr S asked:
Are either of you technically minded?"
Sevan asked what he meant and it turned out that he had a brand new, top of the range strimmer that had recently been delivered. It was sitting in a box and all it needed was assembly. Sevan decided to give it a go while Kash mowed.
The assembly instructions were pictures with no text. There was some head scratching, then 15 minutes later, the bits and unclear instructions had been turned into a garden tool. But did it work...
WHOOOOOOSH! 🌪️ Sevan had to hold on tightly, else it might take off. Unusually, Sevan had lucked out with the awesome power tool this time around. The extra powerful strimmer and super strong trimmer wire made mincemeat of the remaining weeds. Sevan's advice to Mr S was to order some shin guards as the cuttings were whipping against his bare legs.
Kash and Sevan raked up the cuttings and put them in a big pile to decompose. Before heading off, Mr S called them inside. He had prepared another investment masterclass for the GoodGymers.

Nice report and great job with the strimmer. You've made it work, so you totally deserved to give that baby a go! 😁
