Six runners ran 8 (almost 10 with a scenic detour) kms out to Goffenten Allotments to help Corinna and Norbert turn over and weed land for a new fruit patch. It's a busy time in the allotments as they're training some new recruits and the growing season has started.
GoodGymmers in Spades
We met Shona and David there; tackled the overgrown allotment with forks and spades, shifted a woodpile, and weeded around some berry bushes.
We New't
There was a thriving ecosystem in the overgrown berry patch. Toby carefully relocated a wee newt and the rest of us weeded around some small frogs.
Hop to it!
Six ran out and 7 ran back. Finding our way back without getting lost this time, we picked up Russ on the way who was finishing his last long run before the Paris Marathon next month.
We'll be back to Goffenten next Saturday!
