Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Share the love

A team of 5 joined forces in Newham last night for an unusual task of picture framing and gym cleaning.

We opted for the longer route to Durning Hall Community hub, out the park, along the high street and straight up to Forest Gate. it quickly became a ’find my house’ tour. On arrival we were greeted with pictures, frames and a few sweet treats….Thanks Caroline. We whizzed through 18 fiddly frames and moved up to the next floor for a spot of spring cleaning in the gym.

We stepped in the hall and were catapulted back a bit, think 80’s/90’s school P.E lesson: red gym mats, tan coloured floors, off white walls….leotards, vests, plimsolls. Oh yes it was retro. Our task was to give the walls a good wipe down. The difference could be seen straight away, and although we only made it a quarter of the way round it was a noticeable improvement.

We made our way back via the long route again as selected by the group, where we finished up with some stretches whilst going through the full list of all the layers I had on (I have bad circulation).

Same time next week guys, round up the troops

7 marathons, in 7 days

A special shout out goes out to Paul ‘the machine’ Lewis who is running 7 marathons in 7 days this week. He begun the mammoth challenge this Monday so has 4 more marathons left. Paul has managed to get quicker with each race, starting from a 3h.45 on Monday. Good luck with the rest and get the foot spa ready for Sunday night
