During a January Challenge long run I happened upon a lady who needed a hand, moving a broken bench from her front garden.

Mrs R had plans to tidy up and replant her garden, but had no way to get rid of the bench. As it happens, I was on the lookout for garden benches to refurbish, so I assured her that I could help, and would return as soon as possible.

I arrived home and explained to my son, and fellow GG'er, Liam, what was needed. He was keen to get the task done, so we headed off into to the gathering gloom.

The weather wasn't great, and as the light faded, the rain began.

Buoyed by the fact that we were clocking up more miles for GG Liverpool, we pressed on.

We arrived at Mrs R's in the dark, and began taking the loose woodwork off, to make transportation easier. A neighbour obviously thought we looked a bit 'dodgy', with our masks on and hoods up, so called Mrs R to check ๐Ÿ˜

Bench prepared, we headed home, initially sharing the load, but before long, Liam took the bench on his own, and I navigated ๐Ÿ‘

A good deed done, and a green project planned into the bargain.
