I have ran a few half marathons previously and would like to get back into being active with a good purpose. Slow and steady.

Redbridge Report written by James Poole
On a pleasant Summer's evening eight of Goodgym Redbridge's finest runners met to fight the weeds at Redbridbe Lane West Allotments and ran 6km in the process.
It was an oldie but a goodie, last night at Goodgym Redbridge as the squad returned to Redbridge Lane Allotments to battle with the weeds that threaten to overrun the place. This has been a regular site and we have many hours of sweat invested in the ailing garden. We were delighted to be joined by Susanna and Leanne on their first GG Redbridge run and task and after a short briefing the team were off up the road ready to make a difference.
The run to the Allotments is an easy mile and once there the hard work began. Tooled up with hoes, trowels and garden gloves the team set to work tearing up the thistles, dandelions and bindwind like their lives depended on. The allotments have become increasingly unloved this year and although we are only able to make it onces every four of five weeks, we have begun to make a significan difference to how they look.
With sweat dripping from brows and plenty of ground cleared, all that was left was a beautiful sunset run around Eagle Pond and some stretching back at base. Great work team and hope to see you all next week!

Westminster Report written by Joel Wiles
19 of Westminsters finest GoodGymers ran 6.5k to One Big Family homeless charity and prepared all their food for the evenings food run for the homeless.
Great to have some GoodGym Newbies, our regulars and a number of returning GoodGym heroes!!
A super busy evening on Oxford Street was no match for our weaving skills as we ran south through Mayfair, Green Park, Victoria and on to the Ebury Estate youth centre where we met Mike who is the heart and soul of One Big Family Victoria.
Splitting up into Team Jam, Team Cheese, Team Ham and Team Cake we set up our precise production line for some speedy food creation!! We got into a brilliant rhythm cutting, buttering, filling and bagging and smashed out 300 sandwiches and rolls eking out every last drop of jam by the end!
A quick fill of the industrial sized tea urns and a swift clear up rounded off 35 minutes of productive, speedy and so very important work out the areas homeless community.
Like a flash we were off in unaccustomed darkness powering back towards base. Covering the first mile in no time before we took stock outside Liz's house. With one last big push up the Green Park drag we had worked hard!!
A quick stretch out and round of applause in the New Balance store for a Great GoodGym effort!
See you next week for some more fun on the run!
Smooth Running
