Haringey Report written by Euclides Montes
6 Goodgymmers joined forces on a chilly Sunday morning to help transform an area on the side of the Westbury Banks Nature Reserve in Wood Green.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing (stair)well
Our Goodgymmers joined volunteers from the Friends of Westbury Banks Nature Reserve and the Noel Park Big Locals for a big clear out on the side of the Reserve.
It was a big job but one we met with aplomb. The team removed an unsafe metal post, copious amount of ivy and weeds, trimmed the trees around the staircase, carried out a litter pick of frankly gargantuan proportions, swept the foliage and debris, and we even found the time to put up some shiny new signs around the Reserve.
Not bad for a chilly morning's work!
Join us on Wednesday, when we'll be helping out at the Haringey Learning Partnership and then having one of our world infamous* socials afterwards!

Haringey Report written by Kapil
As the forecasts have been promising us a lovely heatwave, what better way to start a bank holiday weekend than to visit our lovely community center, 'Living under one Sun'.
The Sun was certainly there to greet us, and so was lovely Layla and our task today- levelling ground and building some pathways.
Four awesome GoodGymers, lovely Latoya (yes that's right, she was there), awesome Annie (for her third task, and second at Layla's), notorious Nurjehan and keen Kapil got to the task at hand, and before long, an hour had just flown by. Latoya missed us so much that she ended up staying double the time and even keeping some of us around ( won't be mentioning names).
Upon completion of the new walkways (and some Rhubarb extraction), we were greeted with some lovely cut oranges and plums and said our good-byes. Join us next time for some more fun while we head out into the Sun.

Tower Hamlets Report written by Tower Hamlets runner
Intrepid Good Gymers met on a blustery (occasionally sunny) Saturday morning to assist the lovely Alex and Nadia with a number of tasks around the Weavers playground. As the Weavers fox looked on from a safe distance, we started the bulk of activity which centred around weeding but also included moving heavy poles, painting a door in colourful stripes (Rohan and Lieke showing their artistic side!) securing the netting around the fence perimeter, moving piles of wood and jet washing weeds from paving. As ever the team set about their tasks with enthusiasm and most of the work was completed before we headed off to enjoy the remainder of the bank holiday weekend. Special shout out to Leona who attended her very first community mission, Lieke for taking the photos and Stephen (and myself) for coming up with the a-pole-ing puns!

Annie earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Annie completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Annie was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Annie has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Annie is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

Haringey Report written by Charlie Linton
Three GoodGymers came to help Living Under One Sun prepare for another amazing community event. We met Annie who arrived for her first ever GoodGym task (Welcome Annie!) and got to work. Similar to last week, we helped skateboarder Rey set up an obstacle course to teach some families how to safely skateboard. We finished this task and then put on our gloves to help Diane move some planks of wood out of the way next to their brand new shed and compost bin.
After completing task 2, we spoke to the wonderful Leyla who told us the story of LUOS, all they are doing for the community, and about their inspiring plans for the future. Annie, Kapil and Charlie were then generously treated to a plate of kiwis, cups of water, and then given tubs of soup to take home!
Annie is going to expect this treatment at every task now!
We ran back to Wood Green together, passing by our friends at Tottenham Green and our GoodGym Haringey HQ. Annie tempted fate by saying “Let’s see who drops their soup first.” We got almost all the way home when Charlie tripped on some uneven paving and dropped and squashed his soup in the fall! (I’m all ok, some cuts on my knees, but all good now. Thanks for taking care of me Kapil and Annie!) All things considered, it was still a SOUP-er morning.
