A whittle help from my friends

A great run - to match a great pun!

After meeting at Roll for the Soul as usual we headed to Bramble Hill Farm in south Bristol. This is one of our favourite places to run to and somewhere we've been coming back to since we started. It's a hilly run and everyone did great.

There was lots of jobs to do on the farm so we split into groups and go stuck in. The farm was having an open day so part of what we were helping with was setting up. We had a couple of people whittling sticks, another group building a campfire, and a big group of people building a new pen for the turkeys.

We got loads done in the time we were there - incredible effort everyone. The turkeys will be warm (till christmas) and the fire went down brilliantly at the open day.

After some soup and cake we headed back over the hill in Victoria Park and back to Roll for the Soul.

Keep Calm and Kori On

On a mid-October Saturday morning, lone ranger Patrick ran to the Kori community centre playground and continued to chip away at the painted railings to push towards the end of the Kori story

I turned up to the playground expecting a small party and had brought my usual tunes to motivate the troops but, alas, was flying solo this morning.

Nonetheless, with steely determination, I continued to chip away at the layers of old paint, using different tools for the vertical rods and the curvy bits and wearing protective goggles (after the quick photo was taken!).

After a solid hour of power, it was already time to pack up, sweep up then head off for a 5-mile run across a few boroughs to greener pastures for a gardening mission in Tower Hamlets.

The story of the Kori painted railings has become an ongoing saga but is finally approaching its conclusion and will soon be history!

Sign up here for the next weekend visit; it will be amazing when the railings are stripped back and ready for a GG paint job.
