Bristol Report written by Bristol runner
On a balmy/hot Tuesday evening six eager goodgymers found their way to Hannah More Primary school despite the best efforts of the confusing closed roads. Thanks to Darius who stepped in at the last minute after kindly bringing back a litter picker from a previous task.
This evening we were clearing some ground so that beans could be planted. Nothing needed saving so we could attack it with real gusto. It was tough work in the heat and the occasional perch on a wall was required (as modelled by Shreena) and sip/glug of lime cordial (not had that for years!). After just over an hour we were done.
Nice to see everyone. Until next time 🙂

Darius Ghadiali earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Darius completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Darius was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Bristol Report written by Melanie Young (she/her)
Six hardy GoodGymmers jumped at the chance to pick the streets of Bristol whilst also learning about the dark history of the slave trade.
Following a public slavery trail, armed with gloves, bags and litter pickers, we traced the steps of the Discover Britain history trail with Shreena reading the script at each stop. We were even stopped by someone asking if we were GoodGym as she wants to join.
We split into recyclers and non-recyclers and we’re able to stay 2m apart thanks to the expert reach of the pickers and by the Power of GoodGym (I have the Power).
Learning about Merchant Venturers, the Royal African Company, the banks and complicity of tea drinkers and sugar consumers.
A brilliant time getting back together, better informed and with the city that little bit tidier.
