Southwark Report written by David Haggart
Mrs E is due to come home from hospital, but before she can, she needed some help making space for a new bed.
Her old bed had been moved into the living room, so we helped move the old sofa outside where it can be recycled.
A little bit of tidying after that and we were on our way.

It say a lot about me that I'm more impressed by the pun than the fact you've done an awesome good deed for Mrs E....

Well done both. Very worthwhile task.

Westminster Report written by Elizabeth
This evening I met up with James and David for a mission in Westminster for Mr H. Special shout out has to go out to David for signing up to a mission only two days after running the London marathon (he consequently has lots of shiny new badges on his profile, in addition to an enviable medal ๐).
Mr H is currently in hospital and needs a hospital bed in his flat so that he can be released home. For that to happen, his current bed needs to be removed from his flat to make space for the hospital bed to be installed. His wife, Mrs H, isn't able to do this herself and so was put in contact with GoodGym for some help.
After being welcomed into the flat by Mrs H, we were shown through to the bed to be removed, which was a pretty standard divan box bed.
First order of business was to empty the drawers. James and David worked on opposing sides, checking with Mrs H for each item what she wanted to do with it (some of the items were to be thrown away), while I collected them into piles. Mrs H was surprised by the array of bedding that we found, leading credence to the idea that old forgotten things are as good as new when discovered again. As for us, James and I were especially impressed by David knowing the correct term for a valance sheet, and resolved to use the term again as soon as possible (because correct terminology is cool ๐).
Next order of business was to remove the bed and mattress. I got the ball rolling by taking the mattress outside while James and David started dismantling the bed using my fancy screwdriver. Fyi, my screwdriver is so fancy that James suggested that I take a photo of it for the report, but I don't know if the GoodGym world is ready for it yet ๐ (alternatively, I forgot to at the time, and I'm simply too lazy to get it out of my bag and take a photo of it on the train home. Who can say what the truth is? ๐คท)
Bed removed, the final steps were to hoover with a snazzy cordless Dyson (thanks David!), take out some rubbish (thanks James!), and play with Mr and Mrs H's cats while showcasing New Balance trainers (thanks me!).
Mrs H seemed very happy with what we'd done: Mr H has already been in hospital for 3 weeks and she's looking forward to having him home as soon as possible (I discovered while playing with the cats that Mr and Mrs H have been in their flat since the early 70's and married since 1962!). In her own words, "I hope they throw him out soon!" ๐
Dave and James, it was fun working with you: I'm sure I'll catch you guys again on another mission relatively soon! ๐

David Haggart run their first marathon: 26.2 Miles.
David has run their first marathon. This means dedicated training, consistent effort and a lot of support. There's always some pain, always some stress, and always some questioning of what life is all about when your take on something as hard as a Marathon. Your support has has helped make this possible, now the hard work is over, give David a pat on the back.
