What another great night at Abbeyfield Retirement Home. This time we were lucky enough to be invited to Christmas Curry night. We were even spoiled with a cheeky drink (or two!!) We welcomed newbies Chloe and James, it was great meeting you guys and we hope that you will join us again on another Group Run. We were also joined by Sam a Bournemouth University Student who came to film the evening and it certainly added to the madness!! Before the quiz, GoodGymers Daryl and Katie helped draw the Raffle with some great prizes up for grabs. After the raffle it was a full house for the quiz with quizmaster Daryl putting us through our paces. Some tricky christmas trivia but snatching the title was The Loose Women. Well done to them, the brainy festive bunch! It was such a great turn out tonight, thanks to Katie and Eleanor for taking some good action shots. 10 goodgymers made their way to Abbeyfield Care home for our monthly quiz. It was Janet’s first time as quiz master and there were rounds on Remembrance Day, 50 (as Janet recently completed her 50th mission) and general knowledge. The multiple choice round on the theme of 50 proved tricky but lots of points were scored in the final multiple choice round. The Coasters Team won with 24/30, closely followed by Loose Women with 23/30 and Dream Team with 21/30.

Caprice,Katie,Eleanor and Daryl meet at the Brewhouse for a nice gentle run to the Task, the Brewhouse is closed at the moment for refurbishment following a fire in the basement its due to open any day ,so we had to meet outside.Once at the task we where meet by Emma. We where soon walking round the chine picking up litter the chine and the cliff top where very clean for a change but we still managed to fill three bin bags. It was nice walking round when the public thank us for what we are doing it makes it feel worth while and gives you a big smile as you are appreciated. After an hour we put the bin bags in the bin had a group photo and said our good byes. I look forward to seeing you all next week.

Three Goodgymers meet at Upton Country Park for Bournemouth University Hospital walk for wards which is a great charity supporting the local Hospital's.It was great to see Sophie on her first Task ,and to meet Emma again. Emma and Sophie made there way to the turn round point on the 10k walk whilst Daryl was the tail walker on the 5k route taking down the markers .The whole event was great fun I made a lot of contacts for future tasks which is great. This was such a fun event I can't wait for the next one .

What a great turn out for this week's quiz!! Janet, Eleanor, Ross and Caprice met for the group Run and met GoodGymers Katie and Hannah at the Care home. Newbies Poppy and Millie arrived after their 40 minute stomp to the session. Well done to them! And we were then joined by Emma and some more new faces Shirley, Kansool and Shaila. We had actually met the week previous but the session unfortunately had to be cancelled last minute so it was lovely to see everyone again. After a quick introductions and after meeting the residents the teams were split into three team, "Loose Women" the "Eight Wise Men" and of course "The Winners Table" This week's quiz consisted of four rounds, Round 1 Halloween Trivia, Round 2 True or False (very random addition!) Round 3 General knowledge and Round 4 The Music Round with this week being "name that horror movie soundtrack" All teams did a great job and it was right down to the wire. With "The eight wise men" getting a grand score of 24/40, closely followed by "The winners table" with 26. This week though it was "The Loose Women" who snatched the title this week with 26.5, yes just half a point in it!! Well done to everyone and thanks to the residents who are always so welcoming, we love our monthly quiz.
