After a late cancellation of task and a quick re-arrange we headed off to Ship Shape to help them take two of their planting beds back to soil as they had become very overgrown.
In the near future they will look to plant new plants and or fruits and vegetables.
The two beds on arrival looked very sad and overgrown so we got straight to it getting gloved up and stuck in with pulling weeds and picking litter.
It was great to welcome a new runner who has moved up from London Rob. Give him a follow and we hope to see you on future tasks Rob!
After a hot task the majority of us headed back to The Showroom for some food and drinks before heading home. A really nice sunny eve, well spent.
Until next time, happy running :)

What a perfect night for a lovely inside task!
On a bit of a bleak drizzly Sheffield eve we made our way to our old friends Regather to do some painting of the events space which will soon be put back into action which we're all looking forward to.
We met Jess and Rachel on site who got us up and running straight away with rollers, brushes and paint at the ready!
Some went for the tall stuff, some the small detail stuff, it was all appreciated by the team at Regather.
We were well looked after with cups of tea, coffee and the groups fave hot chocolate made for the team!
After a decent sesh the painted areas were looking loads better and I'm sure it won't be long until a bunch of us are in there enjoying events to come!
Until next time, happy running! :)

An inside task in January? Yes please!
11 started from The Showroom and once at Ship Shape we met up with an additional 2 runners to make 13 on tonights run.
We met with Nur who told us all about Ship Shape's fantastic work in the community and how we could help. We got straight to it with the following tasks:
When we left the pingers table was clear and good to go, the toilets sparkling, the tables well and truely screwed and the mirrors looking incredible (or was that just our reflections).
Into the night once more we ran and back to base to stretch off and rehydrate.
Until next time, happy running :)

Seven SENSATIONAL GG runners did an extra long run around Sheffield Gym's tonight to help spread the word about a number of fund raising events for the fantastic charity PACES.
Paces provides a vital service for people living with Cerebral Palsy, and they are always seeking funds to continue and expand their work.
We heard more about Paces from their Event Manager David, who told us more about the charities work and fundraising plans for 2023 through a series of runs including:
Why not enter yourself and get the #redthunder to join the #pinkarmy
All of the Paces events details can be found on their website below and it's not just running. There is Skydiving, walking/trekking, cycling, golf and all sorts!

It's a great time to set some goals in Jan, so why not make one of them a Paces event where you can raise money for a good cause at the same time!
The task itself set us on a treasure hunt style run, finding as many of the local gyms as possible and asking them to pop up some posters promoting the upcoming events to try and get more people involved and raising money for the charity.
At each location we had a group photo outside the gym before heading to the next.
It was great to have a Task Owner running with us setting the pace... and David promised he'd be along to future runs. It was also the first run for another Event Manager, this time in the form of Greg who we really hope will be back again for more and did fantastically well considering that this run was a lot further than we would normally go! Top effort Greg! Please do give both of the new runners a follow. We also had new to the area, but not new to GG runners Becca and Yvette who were both great, really nice chatty people who we hope come back again soon too!
Until next time. Happy running! :)
