A cider with Rosie and quiz was the order of the night, giving us all a chance to wish our newly graduated student best wishes in their future, although it does mean they have to leave Goodgym Bath to which I am very sad but I do hope to bag some nice holidays in foreign fields ... Hint Hint !!
Great to have the THREE AMIGOS along from Goodgym Brizzle in the form of Godfather Dave, Marvellous Matt and Wingman Paul showing their support to everything Goodgym. So after an intro to the 22 strong group and point out the risks for tonight's shenanigans (Animal faeces is always up there)
It was time to get into teams and soon became apparent that division was our weak point with two teams of 6 and one team of 10, although two from that team seemed to be propping up the bar rather a lot, not mentioning any names.
Six rounds of questions ranging from Rock to Geographical questions and cities with exotic names that sounded more like cocktails you would order on a drunken night out and nothing on Emmerdale... Argh!!
The quiz master did admit to using Google when coming up with the questions and with that a queue quickly formed for the Loo, although 3G was a bit slow apparently, again you shall all remain anonymous but I like your thinking. I am still in shock that the winning team picked a box of chocolates for their prize.
We may have been slightly behind but all was not lost when it came to the Raffle with Paul bagging the mystery prize A GROWLER causing a few giggles (I must have led a sheltered life as not heard it called that before) and thankfully someone left the wine for me to claim with my winning ticket.
Team 1 -The Unrepeatable Guestion =32
Team 2- Clutty clutty bang bang =39
Team 3- Goodbye gym =34
Too many names to mention and apologies for lateness of report and wonky pictures.
A great night had by all and raising £159 for The Children's society , thanks for coming along and showing your support and I look forward to hearing what happened after I left.

What a beautiful evening to run up a GERT BIG HILL, well that's what our trainer Steph thought. although I'm sure the 20 strong team in Bath had other desires in their minds. A great 6k run with 3k of this being a steep climb but as they say what goes up must come down.
A very warm welcome tonight to Lucy, Nick, Helen and Kim, it was great to see so many new faces along and a warm welcome to Jo who came all the way from Finland to be with us tonight (a girl can dream)
GoodGym Bath stepped out of the spotlight of the regional news this week and headed up to Odd Down cycle circuit where they provide many cycling session for all abilities including the Wheels for All who have specially adapted bikes, so from children learning to cycle through to the disabled its the place to be seen on wheels.
The hill up is never an easy one but splitting into two groups for this one Pascale leading out first followed by the next group and boy they were made of TUFF STUFF tonight opting for the BEAST (Holloway for those who are familiar with this steep hill) with a regroup at the top in the form of squats before taking on the next hill much longer but less steep with a few walking lunges and hill sprints thrown.
Felix was there to greet the group and soon identified two keen cyclist in the group to take charge of the CLIPBOARDS whilst the others checked the bikes over for any faults in a super safety check with a chance for a ride (at their own risk) In all we checked over 47 bikes for Felix and the group had some fun. It was a struggle to get them to say goodbye to this task and put the bikes away with just enough time to head back down to the leisure centre for a much needed stretch out.
Thank you to the clipboard boys Nick and Ben Thank you Pascale and Emily for supporting the groups and myself. Thank you Felix for allowing us to come along and help again. Thank you Google for the pun. Thank you everyone all blooming amazing people.
If you like walking Forever friends have the Walk for life coming up on May 14th in aid of cancer care centre its a beautiful walk along the Kennet and Avon canal http://www.foreverfriendsappeal.co.uk/events/walk-of-life

what an exciting day in Bath with hail, sleet and snow coming at us from all angles and the lovely Ali Vowles from BBC Points West with Anthony behind the camera documenting the group run for us tonight at Goodgym Bath helping us to spread the News of the Good we all do with Goodgym across the country.
An 18 strong team tonight to join in the 4k run and Good fun with a very warm welcome to Ali and Anthony from BBC Points West and three lovely new runners to GG Bath Emily, Elizabeth and Georgina. The task tonight was putting the final touches to those railings.... Whoop!! We did it !! and a freshen up in the ladies toilets on the lower floor. Georgina kindly offered to back mark tonight.
The sun shone for us ready for the warm up outside the leisure centre with intro to tonight's task and everything that comes with it and of course we took the long way out to our destination giving chance for some great filming with our lovely runners against iconic backdrops and architecture giving us a chance to show how beautiful our city really is especially with the late sun shinning on the Bath stone.
Our route tonight was a sweep around Parade gardens and the weir with a quick nip to the left to Baths Abbey church yard for some triceps dips and press ups using the benches conveniently place for the group to warm up those arms ready for the task ahead before making our way down Great Pultney street incorporating walking lunges ( did you feel the burn?) and static lunges to allow Ali to chat to the group whilst they worked out and give themselves a BIG UP on the good they do in the community. Poor Anthony had to move quickly to stay ahead of the game.
We headed through Sydney gardens and along the canal path for the final stretch of our run out and another chance for Anthony to grab some footage and Ali to chat to the runners about being involved in such a great initiative as Goodgym before arriving at our final destination Manvers Baptist church who do such amazing things for Baths community.
Peter was there to greet us and organise the group with half finishing painting the railings and the remaining making their way downstairs to the ladies toilets to give them a fresh lick of paint (I must say it looked very cosy in there) and there was a lot of paint on T-shirts to prove it but not sure how Kenta got it on his nose. After working hard for 30 minutes with interviews and filming going on we HAD IT LICKED as they say RAILINGS FINISHED and TOILETS FRESHENED UP. I am one very happy trainer tonight, best hold me back.
Time up and just enough chance for a group photo before bidding Peter farewell with a promise to return soon for the next mission at manvers.
BIG THANK YOU to Ali for coming along for BBC Points West and helping us spread the love for Goodgym. Thanks to Hermione for saving the day with tonight's pun and just a GREAT BIG... THANK YOU to everyone for your continued support for Goodgym Bath without you it wouldn't happen..... you are all amazing !!!

Seventeen is my lucky number and that`s exactly how many runners turned up for Goodgym Bath on a beautiful sunny evening for a scenic 4k run along the canal ( glad nobody fell in ) to Manvers Baptist church to paint the railing and for once in daylight.
A very warm welcome tonight to Robert and Rachel joining us for their very first Goodgym run. A quick update Keep April 26th free as BBC Points West are coming along to film our group run....Whoop!!! Emily is off to Budapest at the weekend and Pascale is horsing around in prep for Man vs Horse in June.
After a quick warm up and headcount we made our way to Sydney gardens to access the canal path and discuss the many nice pubs that line the canal in the other direction.... I see a social run coming soon. Ellen kindly back marked tonight as she had hot footed it from the gym to join us this evening.
we took advantage to get in some leg strengthening exercises to help prevent injury and some press ups at the Widcombe lock before our final leg back across the river to our task destination.
Our host Peter was waiting for us armed with Hammerite and just enough brushes to go around but priorities first was to show us the Quiet room all finished with new carpet, it was great to see our hard work in its full glory. We spent 40 minutes on tonight's task and it was great to hear everyone getting to know each other almost whistling while they worked. Pascale decided we could come back at sometime and paint the railings another colour should we run out of tasks and I must say I like her way of thinking. Peter thought it a good idea if Ellen stayed all night to finish them off, he`s a smart man.
Time flies when your having fun and sure enough it was time to pack up before we knew it with time to grab a group photo with the promise to return in two weeks with BBC. We made our way the short distance back to the leisure centre for a stretch out and chat about the pun, very close tonight Rob took the title on tonight's pun from Ali`s Painting is Raily fun ( one to use another time) Thank you both. I am a bit concerned some of my lovely students are forming a dance group ( the pic tells all )
A reminder if you wish to be paired up with your very own running coach let Steph know and Thank you all again for a great Goodgym group run, your all BRILLIANT. Some Boris style upside down selfies tonight... apologies

Tonight's run was a chilly one but that didn`t put off our hardy Goodgym Bath runners from taking on the challenge of a task on the Go with a spot of Flyering in the aid of The Sport relief Mile that is taking place at Odd Down Sports ground in which people can take part by Running or Walking either 1, 3 or 6 miles to help people living incredibly tough lives at home and abroad.
A super Seven runners managed to get around 400 homes in the local area covering 4.5k in total whilst on the move, splitting each street by forming two groups tonight with Ali, Jess and Miriam tackling the left and Emily, Irena and Ellen moving it along on the right. Don`t forget to shut the gate ! was heard from every directions.
We had a lot of ground to cover tonight for this great cause helping the community to get fit whilst doing good , so a bit like Goodgym really. Moving clockwise around the Odd Down community making sure everyone knows Sport relief is happening in their area so they can come along a join in or support on the day.
After our mission was complete the group arrived back on site with 20 minutes to spare and a chance at (their own risk) to have a go at cycling on the circuit, A great place used by people of all abilities in Bath. It was also a chance for the group to meet with Steph`s colleague Felix who loves to cycle rather a lot and take on many crazy challenges.
Great work tonight with Ali proving to be the fastest postman in the west. Those of you who are familiar with Benny Hill will be singing now, (I guess it`s just me then :-).
look forward to seeing you all next week.

Wow !! and double Wow tonight at Goodgym Bath with a super 16 joining in for tonight's task at Manvers Baptist church to help our host Peter get more painting done at this much used community church from folk dancing to Qiong, it`s all going on in here. A short run tonight but this gave us time to devote to the task in hand.
A very warm welcome to our three new runners tonight Alessandro, Mary and Joseph , great to have you along tonight and gives me an opportunity to explain a bit more about Goodgym and the different elements of Good you can do in Bath.
Welcome back to Sam who has been holidaying in Rio, either that or he`s been for a fake tan... only joking Sam.
An intro to the group during the warm up and a headcount, great that we got to 14 before confusion set in tonight as we normally only get to 7 or 8 before we lose it .Not mentioning any names but a flower springs to mind.
Although a relatively short run tonight out to the task, it gave Steph our lovely trainer ( her words I think) a chance to put the group through their paces with some squats to start closely followed by tricep dips just around the corner. A detour was the order of the night at the Wellsway subway with some hill sprints from the group heading up in pairs at Max effort with a chance to recover on the return down and repeat a few times. Not failing to disappoint with the wall looking all too inviting for some seated squat minute reps and a great chance for a good pic.
We arrived at the task to be greeted by our host Peter who quickly divided the group into Two with half tackling the quiet room after a debrief from Peter, some great life skills learn tonight. The remainder of the group braved the cold outdoors with head torches and the everlasting railings armed with Hammerite. John was getting all philosophical outside, Now that's a hard to word to say quickly. We indulged 45mins on tonight's task before the Quiet room ran out of paint and the railings ran out of time but I was relieved to see someone actually came to unlocked that bicycle that always seems to be chained up before they decided to paint it as well.
10 minutes to spare to dash downstairs to wash out the brushes and rollers and pack up ready for next time with a chance for a group photo before bidding farewell to Peter and heading back to the leisure centre for a stretch out and Pun run with Jess scooping tonight Pun, thanks Jess we love it.
Thank you to Jess for back marking tonight.
Thank you everyone for coming tonight and showing what great community spirit and enjoyment you can get in 90 minutes on a cold winter night...Awesome !!
