This afternoon, we met at Bedford Fields to do some planting but we ended up drying out the 6 gazebos instead, after all the rain last weekend. It was good timing as i got to borrow one for this week's picnic in case it rains. We did a bit of weeding and lots of chatting & Jubz made us all laugh as usual. Great to see you all :)

Last night, we ran up to Meanwood Valley Farm on a soggy evening and split into 3 groups. Rachel, Helen, Chloe and I were turning the rather smelly compost, this was a good workout but needless to say, we all headed home for baths afterwards. Christian and Jason who both did their 50th missions (well done guys) worked on some string beans & the rest did some dibbing, to get the ground ready for leeks. We loved it up at the farm and can't wait to head back! We finished off by posing as leeks and various beans for pictures :)
Great work all!
Welcome to Marcia and Lauren on their first sessions.

This morning, 7 of us met in the pouring rain at Beckhill Community Garden to saw & hammer posts into the ground to create a dead hedge. Helen pruned tomato plants and Elspeth did some weeding and in hour we'd achieved what we set out to do. Good work all.
Welcome to Helen & Aurora who joined us for the first time. Hopefully see you again.

What an eventful night we had last night at GoodGym Leeds!
The group ran up to Beckhill Community Garden to help them weed, woodchip and tidy up. At the start of the session a group of local children had found a dog wandering around alone. Luckily, he was a friendly old gentleman and he let me pick him up. After trying to find an owner and having no luck, we decided to take him to a local vet so that they could scan him for a microchip. Jason luckily wasn't far from home so ran up to get his car & drove me and the dog to the vets. Whilst the vet found a chip, the number was out of service, so I was about to bring him back and see which GoodGymer could keep him for the night when Helen called saying they'd found the owner...phew! The dogs name was Charlie & he'd had quite the adventure! Safe to say he was happy to be reunited with his mum.
Meanwhile, Helen had fixed a little girls bike whilst we'd been gone and the others actually did the job we were there to do!
What a dramatic evening spent helping the whole community. Good work team!
Welcome back to Naomi :)

Tonight we headed up to Bedford Fields to meet Beth to do lots and lots of weed pulling. Nothing is more satisfying than pulling a load of sticky weeds with a rake! Lots of nettle stings later, we finished off by picking some raspberries and gooseberries, they were delightful! Welcome to 3 newcomers tonight, Basil, Yike & Manaswini, we hope to see you again soon.
