Laura Lowndes done a 6 month mission streak.
Laura just completed a six month streak of doing missions. That’s so many bags of garden rubbish cleared and jobs done to help someone out and put a smile on their face. Give Laura a cheer to encourage them to keep up the good work.

Nine of us helped shift a mound of soil and various other random items including a toy car, to make way for plants and wild flowers in a peaceful corner of Gunnersbury Park.
The mound was covered in weeds so we set to work clearing it, before starting the back breaking task of filling buckets and wheelbarrows with earth. Queen Lucy arrived 2 good deeds off 250 just in time to recount us all with her tale of watching Leicester win the cup final on Saturday. I'm obviously shoe horning this in to every report this week while I can :-)
Well done everyone, the gardening team were really pleased with how much we got done.

Last night's mission was an annual Christmas one for us, and we were really pleased to meet Ibrahim from That's A Wrap to kick it off. This organisation aims to give a gift to every child in Hounslow who would not otherwise receive anything for Christmas, and our job for the evening was the spread the word about donations in the local area.
Ibrahim handed over 150 flyers, and after a quick photo op, off we went. We were soon delivering flyers super slickly, aiming for the roads where we knew the celebs lived - local knowledge comes in very useful!
Half an hour later the job was done so off we went for a very silly festive fitness session. The battle was on between The Sexy Snowmen and SuperGym, and after some tasks that included singing We Wish You A Merry Christmas while doing high knees, and getting your photo taken with Christmas decorations, it came out as a very festive draw!

Tonight 11 of us got stuck into the brambles at Gunnersbury Park while not too far away Ana and 3 more GGH crew helped out at a local primary school.
Six bags full of the prickly stuff and we'd finally made it 180 degrees around one tree. It's taken a while but Emily, Georgia, Ben, Harvey and Andy made light work of the lopping while Laura raked the debris.
Meanwhile Luis and JP were on bagging up duty, Remy was taking out the day’s presidential election frustrations with a good bramble bashing and Michelle and Salwa collected up the pesky thorns thanks to double gloves and sheer determination.
Despite not being able to celebrate our 4th birthday in the usual way we will make up for it when we're all back together doing group tasks again.
On the eve of lockdown #2 there's nowhere we'd rather be than helping our local park and keeping up our weekly Wednesday tradition at the local.

This morning 10 goodgym volunteers gave up their time to carry on brambling where we’d left off a couple of weeks ago. The brambles are growing thick and fast around many of the trees in Gunnersbury Park.
But we like a challenge so armed with loppers we made a good go of it and will pick up again in a couple of weeks when we’re back on a Wednesday evening.
Hopefully with rakes and sheers next time so we can make more of a dent in the brambles and clear what we’ve cut away.
Thanks for all your hard work today everyone and big congrats to Amanda on your 50th good deed! as the cake baker nodded off, we will celebrate you in style tomorrow at the next Community Mission!!
