Christmas Wrapping & Food Bank

Wednesday 17th December

Written by Daniel

Our final session of 2025 was a great night! Sammi & Macie put us to shame with exceptional Christmas outfits! We started at the Basingstoke Sports & Social Club before going for a 2.5km walk/jog around to the Helping Dogs & Cats charity shop.

At the Charity shop we got into the Christmas spirit with Macie & Sammi wrapping approximately 1,000 gifts! While Evelyn & Daniel separated out a lot of dry dog food for the foodbank.

We finished with going through the store room and picking out some of the best bits to take up to the shop floor!

Thank you to everyone who attended last night and the other 3 events this year. What a great platform to launch into 2026!

Have a Merry Christmas

Christmas light, cricket bats and vaseline??

Wednesday 10th December

Written by Daniel

Evelyn & I had a great session today assisting the Basingstoke Sports & Social Club! It was Evelyn's first ever GoodGym session and it was certainly a different one! We started by going for a 2.5km jog/walk chatting the whole way! Then we came back to the Social Club and were introduced to our nemesis for the day... The storeroom cupboard! And boy oh boy was it full (I am going to learn to take before photos), packed all the way up to the door with open bags, paint and loose sports equipment. We started by taking everything out (which took 35 minutes) then matching up the cricket pads (which took 15 minutes) and then filled up all the bags before refilling the store room in a much tidier fashion. The most fun thing we found was a box full of Christmas lights they didn't even know was there and the weirdest was definitely an exploded tub of vaseline which I found while picking a bag up..

Was a great session, super excited for next week which is going to be a really big session

#LetsLiftTheCurfew

Tuesday 9th December

I went to the #LetsLiftTheCurfew session at the Basingstoke Aquadrome to provide a safe jogging option for the night. There was no one there who wanted to jog, so I left them to go for their safe walk and went home. Going forward I would join them for the walk, but I had been feeling sick

Lights, litter and bingo

Wednesday 3rd December

Written by Daniel

We had a great night completing the litter bingo, and we were very impressed by how clean Basingstoke already was!

But saying that we still filled 4 bags worth of rubbish on our way to and from Eastrop Park with a bit of competition to complete the bingo card.

As a group the only bit of the bingo card we didn't find was clothing!

A huge thank you to Jenni for coming from Reading, was great seeing you again and telling us about what you are up to.

Thank you to Sammi & Macie for bringing some litter picking equipment and lovely seeing you again.

Well done to Lindsay for finding the nappy!!

Dogs, cats & clothes!

Wednesday 26th November

Written by Daniel

We had an amazing launch night! Was incredible meeting all of our new GoodGymers who had found out about the session in different ways! We met at the Basingstoke Sports & Social Club and then went for a jog through the Memorial Park before heading to the Helping Cats & Dogs charity shop. When we arrived Steve was blown away by how many of us were there, but he quickly got us to work rearranging the store and sorting through the store room. We remembered to get 1 before and after shot, and Abigail, Kuba & myself definitely it made everything easier to find and access everything downstairs. In the store Sammi & Macie set up the Christmas section and Lindsay & Ruth sorted all the clothing. It was lovely meeting everyone and looking forward to the litter picking bingo next week!
