A surprisingly bountiful morning of bagging brambles, buttercups and bindweed plus transplanting nice grasses and geraniums to the empty spots - we’re never short of places that need clearing!

Having rescued so laurel saplings (plus a mystery tree and a holly) from Ashton Court Free-Rangers o Thursday, it was great to have an opportunity to get them replanted today just 24 hours later. With rain due, it was the perfect opportunity for a quick tidy up before a falafel lunch reward.

The first head torch gardening of 2025 saw a small but perfectly formed group of GoodGymmers tackling the emerging sticky bud and grass in one of the beds - the one some guerrilla gardener had strimmed to an inch tall in the autumn and were hoping will recover this spring. At least we've managed to get put all the hidden litter and broken glass!
With lots of "help" and "support" for Paul's upcoming professional exam, we're suddenly all interested in Lasagne Night heating solutions.

Despite a migraine, a bit of outdoor time with a lot of breaks was the best medicine. Another section of path cut back as we continue to reclaim the Cemetery park from nature’s takeover bid.

In a change in weather from the snow/ice/rain warnings from yesterday, there was sunshine to be had at Brunswick Cemetery this morning.
An area that’s become progressively muddy over the last year, I was confident there was pure gold gravel to be found underneath. Sure enough, 6 inches down in places, there it was! With buttercups and normal grass evicted, nice grass re-positioned and a huge amount of soil redistributed, let’s see how this survives a few weeks of winter weather!

The last Monday morning of 2024 meant the last chance to find a bit more path and relocate the nice plants over growing the path to newly de-buttercupped flower beds - success all round!
