2 runners collected waste food from local supermarkets to share at the community fridge in the library. This was the last Saturday session as, unfortunately due to funding cuts, the fridge will be Mon to Fri only. It was great to see a couple of our regulars to wish them well. They thanked us for volunteering over the last few years, which was kind and touching to hear.

This week was a unique one, with no food waste donations - great to see the shops able to sell/use everything.
The fridge got a good clean and all paperwork up to date, so still a useful trip!

This week only one store had any food to donate, good to see food waste being low. We collected lots of bakery items and a few corn-on-the-cobs.

In a special task we were asked to do another pickup for the community fridge - this time picking up items from the Boat Yard Bakery that didn't sell today. A good haul for the local community to take at the fridge.

This weeks food collection was a relatively small one. Only the co-op on Queen Street had any food to donate. A healthy mix of bread and veg, including lots of Leeks.

This weeks food collection was a good one, with a new donor on-board to provide excellent bakery items to the community fridge (huge shout out to Boat Yard Bakery, excellent bread and thanks for the offer of a free hot drink on this cold morning).
Waitrose and Co-Op also providing items, lots if fruit and veg. In total over 40kgs of donated items!
