Today we can be a little more open about what we've been up to at GoodGym Exeter. the last 11 days we've teamed up with DIY SOS to help rebuild a family home. Today was the final reveal to the family and a packdown of the site. We cant share pictures of the house itself until after the TV show airs, but we were so proud to be part of it! You have to believe us for the time being in that the house transformation was stunning, and the family were overcome with joy when they saw it. We've truly helped to change their lives.
We worked with a core group of volunteers from RE:ACT as well as 150 other trades and businesses, and formed an unstoppable army. We got properly stuck in, getting muddier and wetter than we've ever been. We helped solve problems, guve logistic support, and so much work inside the house and garden! A huge thanks to everyone who got involved. GoodGym Exeter gave over 100 hours of time to the project!
Here are the pics we can share! The hope is that the show will air on BBC within 12 months.

Today was the final day of the house project before it’s handed back to the family. The day was spent helping assemble flat-pack furniture, clearing up the neighbourhood and assisting the landscapers, decorators and tarmac layers. No pics to share to avoid ruining the surprise of the renovation!

Today 2 GoodGymers were back at the community project to carry on the fab work to renovate a house. It’s the mid-way point of the project and it’s amazing to see the progress - and proud to say we’ve given 84 hours of volunteer time to it so far (in just a week!).
Today was mostly about bricks - moving, lifting, scraping, more moving and drying them! All for trades people to use. A great day, even though we got a bit wet in the rain.

Today our ongoing task for the house renovation was a varied one! the day started with a stint on traffic management, helping residents and trades navigate the road closure. We then focused on the garden, ensuring the area was safe to work in and assisting the landscapers - including moving 5 tonnes of granite!

Today Lucy and I were back helping on an ambitious renovation project. The day was packed full of skills volunteers, all working together to transform the building.
No job was too big or small for us, from helping with brekkie to moving tonnes of materials, we did it all. The project is coming on great too!

Day 2 of our site support for the community project! We were joined again by the wider team of volunteers, helping to clear a house, put tools in storage, remove very muddy track mats and put up info signs for parking.

today was our first community support session for a week-long project. We helped set up the area ready for visitors, including putting up fencing and laying track mats. We’re back tomorrow to do more!
