Friends of Arnold Circus

The Friends of Arnold Circus is a charitable community organisation dedicated to the regeneration and upkeep of the Arnold Circus bandstand and surrounding Boundary Gardens, located in the centre of the historic Boundary Estate.
"Established by local residents in 2004, we have worked with the community to turn Arnold Circus from an unloved and run-down space into the much-loved and well-tended oasis it is today."

A Fair-ly Early Start

The Friends of Arnold Circus is a charitable community organisation, dedicated to the regeneration and upkeep of the Arnold Circus bandstand and surrounding Boundary Gardens. This is a beautiful raised circular park in the heart of a very built-up area, established in Victorian times.

To raise funds, the Friends set up the Autumn Plant Fair, with the best specialist plant nurseries taking place at the historic site

However, someone needed to take the numerous trays of plants, which arrived in each nursery's van, up the steps to the bandstand area. It meant for an 8:00 start, in order that the fair could open on time at 10:30.

But three early-rising GoodGymers were on hand to assist, making many sorties up and down the steps, getting the plants in place while benefitting from a simultaneous hill-training fitness workout.
