What a morning...
With some chilly weather overnight we heard the news early on Saturday morning that our intended volunteering at Millhouses wouldn't be needed as the event was cancelled due to ice!
Linda was already on site and committed to staying in Sheffield until a mission later in the afternoon. Against the normal flow of cancellations, and yet again proving that Graves Park has it's own micro-climate, Graves parkrun was going ahead!
Linda made a speedy beeline for the park and before she'd even arrived had been added to the volunteer roster and assigned a marshaling spot.
She donned her hi-viz and expertly directed the Graves regulars (and no doubt a few extras from Millhouses) round the first bed and helped ensure a safe and enjoyable event for all!
Great Job!

Sheffield GoodGym turned out en masse on a bright, crisp and just a little icy Saturday morning to Graves Parkrun. 18 Goodgymmers joined regulars, for a total of 48 volunteers - a new record at Graves!
This allowed extra marshals to help runners navigate the occasional patches of ice safely. There were also several pacers, ranging between 25 and 40 minutes. They all managed to keep to their times admirably well and helped lots of runners achieve PBs.
Keep an eye out for future pacing events and if you're interested in volunteering at Parkrun, you can opt in to receive emails from your Parkrun account.
