A great turn out for our last foodbank mission of the month. Lots of food and health care products donated to local foodbanks to help out people struggling this winter.

It was a bit of a challenge to cleanup today. Wiping down the numerous piles of boxes and clearing the rubbish barely made a dent in the to do list! A bit of reorganising items back into storage boxes was necessary as everything had been scattered across shelves and in the wrong place.
An extra 30 minutes was needed but thanks to the help of one of the distribution team (who had stayed behind) and an appearance from Henry (the hoover), the majority of jobs were done for another week.
Merton’s Community Fridge is a long-term initiative to tackle food poverty and reduce food waste in the borough. It's essentially a big fridge where fresh surplus food is donated and distributed 3 times a week.
