Chose and delivered library books for my 4 Home Library service recipients. Took flowers from the garden for the lady who likes to chat as I know she misses her garden now she lives in a retirement complex.

Delivered library books and had a mojito with the home library service ladies. They seemed to want to vent about the alms house management this week, and I was happy to listen! Apparently the management bought none other than Robbie William’s old washing machine. Which is hilarious. But what isn’t so hilarious is that it is now broken, what with 23 people using it none stop. Anyway, it was another lovely way to spend the evening with lots of laughs.

I’m getting a bit more confident picking out library books for Mrs M, and this time availed myself of the greater selection at Oxford Central library. I hope that an eclectic mixture of murder mystery, biography, historical fiction and family saga will keep her in reading material over the next 3 weeks.
We had a lovely chat on the doorstep about Mrs M’s impressive garden - abundant roses and honeysuckle. I shall be looking for top tips for my new garden soon!

I’ve signed up as a volunteer for Oxfordshire Home Library service and been assigned 2 elderly ladies who can no longer make it to the library themselves. I collect books from the library roughly once every 3 weeks and deliver to the ladies’ homes. Had a short chat on the doorstep, but didn’t like to keep the recipients out in the cold for too long today given the snow earlier!
