Climate Relay - Dunstable to Luton

GoodGym's David met up in Dunstable with three other local runners to form a team for today's first leg of the Climate Relay: Dunstable to Luton Town F.C.

Issued with the Climate Relay baton the team took turns carrying it as they took off on foot for the journey along the busway into Luton. Sharing running stories along the way of some of the fun experiences we've had thanks to running.

With clear blue skies above and surrounded by wildflowers in the green verges, it was an ideal morning for a run. The team wound their way along, sharing the busway path with other runners and cyclists. After an hour the endpoint came into sight as the stands of Luton Town F.C. came into view and the team bade farewell and disbanded. David wasn't finished yet, there was another 10km to come on the next leg...

Climate Relay - Luton to Harpenden

The second leg of today's journey for the Climate Relay baton saw David joined by Derrick for the 10km trip to Harpenden.

Starting at Luton Town F.C. on Kenilworth Road, David carried the baton while Derrick cycled alongside. Together they took the baton onwards on it's journey through Luton town centre, via the Town Hall and then out into the gloriously sunny countryside, following the Upper Lea Valley route into Harpenden.

Arriving on the outskirts of Harpenden and gaining sight of their final destination, the duo were cheered and congratulated by the Running Out of Time team and the next baton carrier, representing the Vegan Runners, loaded the baton into her rucksack and embarked on a cycle tour to the Vicarage Road stadium in Watford (Boooo!).
