Today I headed to are monthly Scope Mission.
The job was to clear the garden of remaining weeds and litter and then 'blast the place' with weed killer!
I went through nearly 2 bottles of the stuff, so that should keep those pesky weeds at bay!

This morning I went along to our monthly mission with Scope. Today's task was to cut all the weeds down in the back yard. I good hours graft was done and as you can see from the before and after pictures a decent transformation.
We'll be back again next month in the meantime I need to find a pub! #itscominghome

This morning myself and John went back to Scope for the first time since last October, after all the lockdowns.
Today's task was to sort a load of clothing out from bags. Putting together the mens, clothes and womens dresses. As you can see from the photos there was a lot of bags, but we managed to make a good start. This week's pun was thought up by John, as obviously there was some blouses in the bags and with the test match currently taking place at Lords a cricket/clothes inspired pun, seemed the order of the day.
I think we sorted around 20 or so bags in total and our efforts as ever were very much appreciated by the shop staff.
It was great to be back and we will certainly be back again next month :)

The staff at Scope in Erdington were very happy to see us again and had a lot of jobs lined up. The first one was to move a filing cabinet which had seen better days out into the back yard. We did this relatively easily, although it was a bit of a squeeze getting it through the crowded back room. Then we had a big job to move a good filing cabinet down from the first floor. We took a bit of a Laurel and Hardy approach to it as it slipped out of Jonny's fingers on the stairs and I managed to stop it and hold it up. A few loud bangs later, with a bit of a controlled slide, and we had an improved filing system in place. After checking ourselves for damage we got into the main job. This was to get bags of winter clothes down from the top floor to be sorted out and put out in the shop. Once we were done with this whole body workout, we then had to put all the bags of summer clothes up in the place we had just emptied on the top floor. We did so and cleared two rooms for the hardworking staff in the shop.

I joined Jonny running from Sutton Park to Erdington high street in order to help out at the Scope charity shop. With our litter pickers still in hand, we were sent out at first to give the back yard a tidy. I picked up the rubbish while Jonny cut down the weeds. We went back inside to help some more. We were then set up to help rearrange the bags of donations. We got our steps in for the week as the shop has three floors. We began by moving some bags being stored in a second floor office into the hallway. Then we brought bags of winter clothes from the top floor to the ground floor and any we couldn’t fit down there went down to the office we had cleared. We left to great thanks and made arrangements to return. I picked up a raffle ticket and bought some clothes before I went home as well to give a charitable boost to the charity and my wardrobe.

Myself and John went to complete the monthly Mission at Scope in Erdington this morning. The task was to clean up their back yard.
Thankfully after I had cut the nettles down last month, which had grown out of control during lockdown, there wasn't too much of that to be done. Mainly it was picking up all the rubbish from the floor and putting it in a skip or in a pile at the side. However the best bit was we got to literally 'smash up' a chest of draws, hence this weeks pun!
Once done we both ran 3k to our next Mission :)
