It was a little windy this morning!
Angela marshalled and I tried my hand at barcode scanning for the first time. It was a great role to have as I could watch everyone set off and then wait in anticipation to see who would be first over the line.
It was lovely to chat to everyone as I was scanning their barcodes about how they got on - everyone looked pretty chilled, except fellow GoodGymers Brad, who had pushed Fletcher in the buggy in his brand new parkrun 50 t shirt, and Stephen Reed, who I told to go and get a cup of tea!
After I finished scanning everyone's barcodes and making sure that all the finish tokens were sorted, I went off and ran the route myself! It was rather a lot quieter though...

This morning several of us gathered at Sloughbottom Park to do the Norwich Park Run - a nice route around the edge of the playing fields and then along the Marriots Way, a disused railway track now used regularly by walkers, cyclists and runners including those doing the Park Run. A lovely green route, providing plenty of shade on a hot Saturday morning, but with trees, bushes and brambles growing over the pathway making access a bit restricted in places. Not to worry though as this was down for a Community Mission for us Goodgymers to tackle once we had finished running. The Park Run organisers were well prepared for us with gloves, tools and binbags ready for us to head out. Once on the Marriots Way we roughly split into 2 groups heading off in opposite directions to tackle the vegetation and litter. Roughly an hour later and we were back at the pavilion with 2 bags of litter and satisfied Goodgymers who had all done a great job of making the pathways clear for everyone.
