The Small Project

The Small Project is a volunteer-run baby clothes bank
Take donations of second-hand baby and children's clothes, and redistribute them to those who need them. Because of the pandemic, they cannot get the donations to those who need them most - typically those who are vulnerable and/or young families living in poverty.

15 GoodGymers have supported The Small Project with 5 tasks.

A WHEELIE good task

Saturday 25th July 2020

Todays community mission at Oasis Playground for The Small Project had NINE delivering locations which varied in distances and locations. It’s a  good mission if you fancy a bike ride and doing some good to kick start your weekend.

Lenka and I snapped up two of them as it was on our route to our following shopping mission trip in Wandsworth. Five other goodgymers Victoria, Liv, Paulin, Vic and Anna all got involved to deliver some bundles of small children clothes. I didn’t see everyone but from those I did see and meet it was clearly a mission for two-wheels and big bags.

Unfortunately no one signed up for the two long distances but at the same its tricky to find volunteers in under a 24 hour window. I’m sure someone was on hand to deliver them at the end.

Well done to all those who helped out redistribute the packed clothes to the vulnerable/ or young families currently living in poverty during the pandemic.

 Bravo everyone.

Bags of fun

Saturday 20th June 2020

Four runners set out on a Saturday morning to Oasis Playspace, of the Small Project to play delivery gal and guy.

Nicky and Phil left the house heading towards the Imperial War Museum to discover the elusive Oasis playspace, a small playground and nestled behind the old Bethlem asylum. Upon arrival they collected their delivery, two bags of clothes and toys, in a socially-distant manner and set off. Managing to keep pace with the cyclists for half a mile. Having been dropped by the cyclists, and catching a whiff of the tube, they made good time to the drop-off. Mrs M was very pleased with her delivery and our delivery team made tracks for home.

Care Bears

The Small Project is a wonderful foundation based in Oasis playground. It is a baby clothes library in South London where they pass on clothes and other items to local families in need.

Today they had a big mission for two runner's, so Steven AKA" Lobster King " and I were assigned to deliver big bundles of baby clothes to two different locations. Lobster king ran to the SW2 location and I cycled to the SE17.

They generally have theses community mission set up every Saturday and the distance and locations vary every time, so keep your eyes peeled if you're interested.
