It was nice to see so many Goodgymer's brave the weather and come along to the Care Home for the Monthly Quiz {please don't leave it so long}.We split into two teams so that there was an equal amount of residents and Goodgymers on each team. The quiz started with a picture round which was name the dog i.e. Mutley which was fun then we had a round where a phrase was handed out and you had to count up how many F's there was, this was followed by Two General Knowledge rounds.Once the scores where added up both teams had 50 points each so we had to have a tie breaker question not one,but three questions later we had a winner.Which was Janet's Team The Smart Alecs and a close second was Lea's Team the Smart Thinkers.Well done to you both. Once again thank you for you all for coming along it means so much to all the residents. Next Month after the quiz we are going to the Alpine Bar in the Square for a Drink so please come along and Join us Its Monday December the 8th please make a note.

Goodgym returned to the Auger Collective to put a second coat of white on the gallery walls. Lovely to meet Romy for her first Goodgym session and also to welcome back Alina, Sanduni and Chamidu. Amanda was all set up with two stations of paint trays and rollers and we got stuck straight in. In record time we were finished and even managed to clean the floor afterwards. Great job everyone!

Nine Goodgymers attended the monthly care home quiz. Well done to Eleanor for putting the gym into Goodgym by running all the way there and back! It was lovely to receive such a warm welcome from the residents now that it’s turning darker and chillier outside. This month Janet took on the role of quiz master, starting with a picture round of old movie posters from the 1930s and 1940s. This caused much discussion among the three teams, with renditions of Judy Garland hits being heard across the room! Unfortunately, our lovely 100 year old resident couldn’t quite remember where Judy Garland’s train was going (St.Louis) so the film title evaded her. There were science and nature, geography and general knowledge rounds, with a few trick questions thrown in. Did you know that Albert Einstein’s wife was an Einstein even before she got married? Turns out, only one of our teams did (or they made a lucky guess)! And the Waikato River may sound Japanese but is, in fact, the longest river in New Zealand. Congratulations to the Middlemarchers with a phenomenal total of 41 out of 46. There was only a point in it for the two runners-up teams. Well done everyone!
