Amber Gibney cheered by other people 25 times.
Amber is part of a crowd that's making a huge noise. Amber has been cheered by 25 people - that's a round of applause just on their own. We hope they keep it up.

On what what a really really miserable evening, well done for getting yourselves out and into the rain, I'd normally say I don't know what all the fuss was about, it's only a little bit of rain...it wasn't, it was horrendous running conditions!
The highlight of upcoming Community Missions was discussed in great detail at the start, tree and hedge planting at Surrey Docks Farm. Not only do you get to see all the cute animals and do some good planting trees and hedges but you also get a qualification at the end. A qualification in tree and hedge planting! Saturday 10am at Surrey Docks Farm - I can't wait to hear all about it from those that attend.
As a group we voted to have the head count indoors and run straight from Glassmill to the task to avoid time spent in the rain.
The task tonight was to run to Crofton Books without getting absolutely soaked which we failed miserably because we all arrived rather drenched. The real tasks of the evening were:
There were a lot of tasks to be getting stuck into and a lot of organising going on, and book buying (maybe that was just me). Before I knew it, there was 5 minutes to go and the reorganising of the modern classics had nearly made it to the end of the alphabet. We couldn't leave without completing that so in the meantime I gathered/dragged everyone together and away from the books for a group photo.
We began to make our way back to Glassmill, in the quickest route possible to avoid time spent in the rain. After a quick stretch and discussion about next weeks task, which is being led by Conroy.
Thanks Chloe for backmarking on the way there and Stephen on the way back.

A very warm welcome to Lewisham Margarete, we hope to see you again soon! Thanks to Amber for leading our walking group this evening, and to Sarah for backmarking.
Well done to everyone who made it out in Storm Dennis for some soggy running this weekend! Thankfully the weather was significantly drier this evening, but we still needed a mexercise wave of squats, lunges, jumping jacks, high knees and heel flicks to warm up.
We set off for the relatively short run round the corner to St Christopher's Hospice shop. The shop manager Sara had plenty of tasks (as well as plenty of snacks!) lined up for us to tackle this evening, including:
We managed to get through everything that was lined up for us, which meant only one thing... We had time for a time trial! I was very impressed with the effort everyone put in, and enjoyed a thrilling sprint finish with Nick just pipping Adam to the post!
"I feel the need ..." "... the need for speed!"
Thanks everyone for a fun task! Keep an eye out on the upcoming community mission listings for some weekend fun with Caireen at the lovely Wildcat Wilderness, one of GoodGym Lewisham's perennial favourites.
Have a fantastic week everyone, and happy running!

Amber Gibney earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Amber completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Amber was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Southwark Report written by Southwark runner
10 GoodGymers met in Bermondsey this morning to help Crisis at Christmas. Despite asking everyone to be prompt at 10am, I was the last to arrive. I blame a slow bus and my atrocious sense of direction - sorry all!
The Bermondsey warehouse was the central logistical hub for the London centres that hosted guests over Christmas. After a busy festive period, it was looking a bit worse for wear! The warehouse needs to be handed back on 1 March so GoodGym got a last minute call-up from Taidgh at Crisis to help restore it to its pre-Christmas glory.
We were happy to welcome some new runners this morning. Jessica came for her first ever good deed - welcome! Richard and Amber were on good deed number 2 and Liv was on good deed number 3. Thanks all for responding to the last minute call!
The rest of us were slightly older hands. We all got stuck straight in to the tasks Taidgh gave us - sweeping and hoovering to start with. Taidgh asked us to do a room at a time, in case we didn't get through them all. One hour in and we had almost done the lot!
Taidgh found plenty more for us to do in our 3 hour slot. Karen, Ian and Richard got to work on some DIY, Beth and Tim did some crate maneuvering and tool tidying, Jessica and I hoovered another space and cleared up some rather mouldy crockery, while Sally and Amber stayed in the main warehouse to continue sweeping and offloading rubbish into the skip.
Taidgh was blown away by what we got done; by 2.5 hours in he had run out of tasks for us. He sent a lovely thank you email after:
Really good to meet with you this morning.
You and your team got more done than I expected and the warehouse looks good enough to hand back now.
I look forward to calling on you again in the future.
Well done everyone, it was a great example of what dedicated volunteers can get done in a short time for a good cause.
