Autumn earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.

Autumn completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Autumn was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

You’ll always find us in the kitchen at (Age UK) parties!

Hammersmith and Fulham Report written by Lucy Hill

The weather outside was frightful, but at the Age UK Christmas Party it was truly delightful, as eight GoodGymmers helped out the Hammersmith and Fulham branch at their festive fiesta.

Andrew made an excellent doorman and checked the guest lists - greeting all the party goers with his ‘Avo Merry Christmas’ jumper before they came in and were seen to by Mr Age UK himself, Johnny ‘Biscuits’ Wren, who was making sure everything was running smoothly.

In the kitchen Ellen, Autumn, Sarah and Lucy were ‘second to naan’ at prepping the platters of delicious food - chicken curry, spicy dhal, rice, saag paneer and mounds of naan breads & poppadoms, plating them out to the hungry guests. There were also drinks to be served, and Jonny Cooke did a sterling job at making sure no one had an empty glass, topping up flutes of Prosecco and cups of coke.

We all swapped around tasks, collected the empties and dirty dishes, washed up and scrubbed up before Beth arrived just in time to enjoy the food, drinks, and entertainment! After some ‘dhal-ightful’ Indian food ourselves, we all had a cheeky dance - shout out to Andrew ‘the man in the blue t-shirt’ for his slick dance moves, and Lucy who was invited to cut shapes on the dance floor by the guests!

The night was ending, and the last of the wine was poured, Tupperwares were stuffed to the brim with leftovers and everyone left the building full of curry and Christmas joy.
