28 Hackney GoodGymers ran 6k to Hackney Wick Community Garden.
Amazing to be back with the squad this week and a huge thank you to Katie for blazing a trail of navigational glory to and back from the task!!
3k very warm kilometres of running had us warmed up for task action and with loads of jobs to do we got right down to business!!
A forest of wood to break down into twigs, big twigs big bagged up and transported in brown Bins across the estate, virtually draining the river of water will the amount of watering that was required for a very thirsty garden (all done by buckets), ingenious work creating not only a hose pipe mini irritation system but also a nailless wood store!
40 minutes of graft rewarded by an amazing fresh fruit spread and water to fuel us up for the strong run back to base!!
Than you all for coming and best of to Deb and Paul for their amazing GoodGym tour!!
See you next week for a Hackney Downes adventure!

20 hyped GoodGymers ran 4K to Gillett Square to clean the community oversized children’s pop up playground equipment!
Congratulations and cake were in full effect this week as not One but Two Hackney Milestones were reached with Clair knocking it elegantly through the legside for a superbly played Half Century of Good Deeds while Eva skipping down the pitch to bring up her Century by smashing her GoodDeed tally out the ground!
President has been set with Cake (ohh so good Cake!!) the reward for 💯 GoodDeeds and 2 amazing Chocolate cakes were baked to mark the occasion by Clair and Mireille thank you both so much!
After the cake presentation we zipped away from the Bakehouse to Dalston and the always thriving Gillett Square. Meeting the Team there it was great to be back helping an organisation that helps to give Hackney some of its community flavour! Being over a year since we had last been we were not quiet as slick with out unloading of the Tardis link container and with water in short supply (which was ironic given the earlier weather). But once we were up and running there was no stopping us!!
Speedy Scrubbing, expert rinsing made a huge dent in the cleaning progress even having time to clean the oversized chess pieces and fold out tables! Unfortunately the Sun didn’t come to play to aid the drying process so we reloaded the Tardis after a little negotiation 😉 on the optimal way to get the equipment back into the container we picked up the pace to finish with just enough time to run back to base for 8:30 with a couple of fast I’d to bring us home!
All stretched out 13 of us carried the celebrations on at a local refuelling spot which doubled up as GG Olympics flag design HQ.
See you next week for some more Fun on the Run!!
Smooth Running
