Ealing Report written by Liv Parker-Scott
An amazing 22 GoodGymers including 2 new runners, 4 tourists and lots of returning faces ran 6km last night to help stack, sort, shift and snip at Ealing Foodbank!
Lovely to see you all!
After starting with a quick warm up we trotted off down to Ealing Foodbank in Hanwell to help with lots of different tasks across the site. Pumped up by Chi's tunes blasting from his running backpack we had a speedy group out at the front, regrouping and doing squats on the turns. With everyone safely onsite we got cracking as there was A LOT to do last night!
Team work makes the dream work!
We split ourselves into two groups, team outside were tidying up all the grounds surrounding the hall, litter picking, trimming and weeding. You guys did a wonderful job clearing five massive bags of garden waste and 2 bags of litter! The other team worked tirelessly inside trying to weight, sort and stack as much of the harvest donations as we could in the short time window we had. Between us we also bought along a few donations from our team too so it was great to see where it all goes and be a part of the process to help those who need it most! Our donation weighed in at around 10kg but we weighed nearly 250kg of donated goods in total.
That's a lot of good right there!
We didn't get everything finished last night as there was so much to do but Hilary from the centre explained that they had been really short on donations until recently so having too much stock to sort was definitely a good problem on this occasion!
Before we knew it time was up, so just a short jog back down to Ealing Broadway for some stretches and goodbyes. It was so great to see so many of you out last night and we'll be back at The Foodbank again soon as donations ramp up towards the festive period.
Until next time!

Such a great turn out of 16 runners last night when we went down to St. Mary's Church to help them get on top of some garden maintenance. We also had two runners join us for the first time, welcome to Rachel & Charlotte!
It was a beautiful evening for a run so after a few warm up drills and a whip round of favourite animals (Tash's favourite is a finger monkey, if you need a cute pick me up search google images now!) we went off on a slightly longer route around Ealing Common.
Upon arrival we were met by three church volunteers, Angela, Alex and Jan, who gave us the low down on what needed to be done. The church has a beautiful large outdoor space but as it's all looked after by volunteers they were struggling to get on top of it. The main task was to start to clear part of the garden used to spread ashes which had been overrun by sticky weeds and nettles.
GoodGym to the rescue!
With so many helping hands we covered (or more like uncovered!) a lot of ground and by the end of our time there we had a massive pile of weeds to show for it! They were so happy with our help and we are definitely looking to make this a regular task, it was a delight to be able to provide some much need (wo)man power!
We made the most of the lovely evening sunshine by heading to nearby Walpole Park for a few running games and a round of triathlon core exercises before wrapping up the evening with a jog back to our base at Bodyline Studios who continue to be a great support to what we do every week.
Thank you to everyone for coming out, long may the weather continue as we have lots of great outdoor tasks coming up over the next few weeks, click here to see what we have planned and sign up nice and early now!

Catherine has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Catherine is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

Ealing Report written by Liv Parker-Scott
It was an action packed GoodGym in Ealing last night filled with running around the beautiful parks of Ealing, planting for Walpole and Sally Squats! This week we decided to make our run a total of 3.71 miles to #finishformatt who sadly passed away running the London Marathon this year.
We started at our usual point at Bodyline Studios who kindly host us every week and welcomed brand new GoodGymer Catherine who really got stuck in throughout the whole night with both the running and the task, big welcome! After a quick discussion about what drink we fancied after the run (1st Tuesday of the month is always our social in Ealing) we were off down to to parks to complete a couple of laps before the task. We took in a big loop of Walpole followed by the mile lap of Lammas and it turned out to be a beautiful evening for it!
Planting Extravaganza!
We soon arrived at our planting spot in Walpole Park and were met by Vanessa who was ready in waiting with plenty of forks and trowels for us to get as much in the ground as we could in the time we had. There was no messing around and we were getting them planted quicker than Vanessa could lay out more ready to go in next, in no time at all we had planted everything she'd got ready for us!
With a little time to spare we headed out for a final through loops of the park to make up our distance and #finishformatt, we used the time to speak about it and how grateful we were to be able to run. 5 minutes to spare back at base meant we had time for little extra and round of Sally Squats it was. By the end of the song we agreed we all hated Sally and her squats and that we would have the tune ringing in our ears for the rest of the night!
Bring Sally up, bring Sally down...
And then to the pub we went! Thank you for coming and hopefully see you all next time!
