Ceidih Byrne has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Ceidih is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

A swift sub-zero starter session covering 3km and completing a beach survey
This Saturday we had the last of our weekend starter sessions. So great to have 2 brand new GoodGym runners who both work for local health firm Vitality and are aiming to practice what they preach!
With our happy threesome we signed in and got going in the quite frankly Arctic temperatures.
We ran along the prom towards Bournemouth Pier. With such a small group it was great to get to know each other and chat about work, life, pets, people!
Soon enough we hit our landmark - Harry Ramsden's! And we had a quick task brief. The marine conversation charity had requested we perform a survey of all the wierd and wonderful objects people leave behind on a stretch of beach. We had gloves, bags and a very detailed survey sheet. A 'forensic sweep' then took place and we picked and recorded every tit bit found on the sand. The charity use this information to better equip coastal areas with the bins and notices they need to keep the beaches clean and safe for people and wildlife.
Our team of three did a really fab job but we admitted defeat when our fingers were totally numb!
We'd never been so glad to get running again and warm up. Our route home was back along the seafront, regrouping at the pier for a thorough warm down.
An amazing start to the weekend - thanks ladies for your excellent work and hope to see you at the regular Wednesday evening runs soon!
