What a satisfying mission this morning. We were up and out early to help out at Danson Youth centre who needed a car parking area tyding up so the NHS are able to park safely and carry out their awesome work.
We had a fab crowd turn out for the mission so it was all hands on tools to get as much done as we could. Checkout the photos to see just how much we got done, you'll be amazed.

It was great to see new faces from our best friends Bexley Mencap turn up and really get stuck in. We were so busy cutting, sweeping, trimming that we didn't even notice the rain coming down.
Some missions are just so great when you can actually see the physical change from our work and this mornings mishhh was one of them. Thanks Sarah for this weeks heading, very appropriate 👊🏻😁

Chris Walder earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Chris completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Chris was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

What and awesome mission this morning, it was team work and physical fitness all rolled into one. Everyone had to play their part today or we wouldn't of got this misssh done.
The task was to dig up sheets from behind the goal line, fold them up and get them to to side of the pitch so the grounds men could get to work renovating behind the goal. At first we thought we were pulling up small squares of sheeting but it turned out to be more awesome then that.........yep two massive sheets that took all our strength and grit to get them moved 👊🏻🤣
Checkout our photos of all the hard work the team put in and if you think you'd like to join us checkout our future missions, we'd love to have you come along.
Well done today goodgymers, you excelled yourselves. see ya soon, Tim

Bexley news
Tonight we met at Crook Log ready for our task at Bexley Mencap. We were heading back to the Mencap offices to give the activity room a second coat of paint after we had already given the first coat a few weeks back.
It was great to have not 1, but 2! New members join us tonight. Welcome to Mauro and Jack we hope you enjoyed your first run and task with us!
We had a quick warm up as we wanted to leave as soon as possible as there was lots to get done on the task.
The walking group set off first as to get to the task first and open the door for us as Nick has the keys
The running group set off on a slightly longer route to try and arrive at the task at the same time. Well done to Liam for joining the running group tonight for the first time!
Upon arrival, it was all hands on deck! We had paint pouring, paint rolling, paint brushing, paint wiping. It wasn't long before the second coat of white paint was nearly done.
We helped Nick tidy up and headed off back to Crook Log.
Well done tonight! We got lots done and helped Nick out a lots!
Next week we are at the Care Home.
Until then...
Happy running!

- Did you know that there has NEVER been a parkrun on the 29th February. This leap year, the 29th falls on Saturday. No-one has ever run a parkrun on this date and the next time this will be possible will be in at least 28 years time! Join us at Bexley parkrun to celebrate the occasion!
- Let us know if you are coming to the Quiz Night at Danson Youth Centre. It is a little different to the conventional pub quiz. BYO snacks and drinks!
- Next Monday we will be celebrating GoodGym Bexleys 3rd Birthday After our group run we will be heading to The New Cross Turnpike.
Tonight 12 runners and walkers met at Crook Log, ready for our task at Bexley Mencap offices.
We welcomed our new members Andy and Liam. Great to have you guys along, we hope you enjoyed your first GG session with us!
We had a quick warmup, deciding not to use the cones as they kept blowing away last week. We then had a quick run straight to the Mencap offices as there was lots to do!
The walking group went ahead and went the shortest way to get there first as they had the keys.
We paced ourselves well as both groups arrived at the same time.
Nick had already prepped the space, so we could get straight to work.
We poured paint into trays, picked up paint brushes and rollers and got to work.
We had plenty of hands to get the job done and in no time we had covered the walls with its first coat of paint.
We helped Nick tidy up and admired our work. Next time we might be able to give a second coat.
Great work tonight guys.
Until next time...
Happy running

Tonight we met at Crook Log as usual. The storm seemed to have disappeared as we made our way outside for our warmup. However, it was still windy enough to keep blowing our cones over for our game. We decided to alter the game a little and had a relay race to see which team could collect all their coloured cones first. After a bit of confusion and an almost fatal collision, we settled at a draw.
It was time to split into out 2 teams.
Runners
&
Walkers
We headed straight for the care home as we wasn't sure what task we would be doing. We made it there in not time at all. Great running from the team and the walking group arrived not too far after the runners.
Upon arrival, we were given some paint brushes and a large pot of paint. Our task was to touch up parts of the coving. We nominated some painters, who picked up a brush and got to work while the rest supervised, making sure that they were safe and holding the tools.
The coving looked better already!!
We tidied up, washed brushes and made sure that there were no drips of paint anywhere... We were all good!
It was time to head back to Crook Log. We had a short jog back before cooling down.
Great work tonight.
See you next time!

Bexley News...
Tonight the hardcore GoodGym Bexley team met at Crook Log. Ciara might have been kicking off outside, but that didn't put off the 7 runners who were still up for some good deed action!
Unfortunately , the prospect of a nice warm, indoor task at the care home was abandoned as it was canceled last minute.
Luckily, we had some leaflets that the Greenwich and Bexley Hospice wanted us to distribute. They want to spread the word of the community lottery.
We split into 2 teams.
The Runners
and
The Walkers
The running group headed out on an out and back, aiming to meet the walkers on their way back.
The walking group started on the leaflet drop straight away.
We managed to keep hold of most of the leaflets, without any blowing away. After no time, we were out of leaflets.
We headed back to Crook Log and discussed the upcoming tasks.
Well done tonight!!! I hope everyone has thawed out 🥶
Until next time,
Happy Running!!!

- We have a chance for a double good deed coming up on the 15th February.
- Join us at Bexley parkrun for some volunteering
- After, we are heading to The Old English Gardens for the first time this year
Tonight, 10 of us met at Crook Log ready for the task.
We had a quick warm up playing 'musical cones' minus the music.
We had a short run to the walk centre, while I led the walking group on a shorted loop to arrive at the same time.
Upon arrival we were met by Joy, who quickly found us something to do.
The task was to clear and tidy the skate park area. There wasn't an awful lot to do as we wernt there that long ago. We pulled up some weeds and cut back some grass as well as tidy some litter. In between, we tried to keep warm by jogging some laps around the skate park and do some star jumps.
After a little while, there wasnt much left to do. Joy asked if we could do a quick litter pick around the car park area.
This didn't take long as there wasnt alot of litter. Great for the environment but not great for us looking for litter!
We emptied the bins and tidied up before heading back to Crook Log.
Great work tonight.
Until next time...
Happy Running...
