Four runners helped with tasks at the Organic garden on a bright and warm morning. Meyrick and Elise started with raking/tidying the orchard whilst Diana and Rob moved last year's compost to the other side of the garden.
After a much needed apple juice break we swapped roles with Meyrick and Elise taking over the transportation of the compost whilst Diana and Rob took over the raking in the shade!
It's always nice to see help out at the organic garden and to see the difference we make.

4 GoodGymers met at the church to help deliver roast meals for people in the local community. The meals had been freshly cooked on site. We have been doing this task regularly since lock down but as restrictions end this will be the last time. Next month the meals will be served on site allowing everyone much needed social contact.

Di Michalak earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Di completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Di was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

A group of GoodGym volunteers went to help out at Bath Organic Group's community allotments near Victoria Park. Some of us has been to help out before and we also welcomed some new runners to GoodGym.
The first task was to lay bark chip down to recreate the path around their allotment. There has been lots of grass and weeds growing around and over the path recently so we had to clear some space with sickles first!
The second task was to recreate the path around their pond to make it safer for visitors and volunteers. We had to use hoes to remove the weeds before we could wheelbarrow the chips into a path shape;
After some much-appreciated home-made apple juice to give us a sugar boost we hoed over some ground in preparation of cabbage planting later this week.
We all enjoyed feeling physically and mentally refreshed after spending the morning in good company in the sunshine helping this great community group.
