8 Westminster GoodGymers ran a super sweaty 6.5k to sort out the garden of One Big Family Homeless Charity in Victoria to get their garden ready for a charity Tea party on Sunday.
A lovely very energy informative run this week took us through the heart of Central London. Weaving our way 3k down to the Ebury Estate.
Meeting Mike and getting to see the award One Big Family received on Tuesday for Volunteer contribution to the Community of the Year in Westminster.
Getting ready for a charity Tea Party we were bringing all the flower pots through into the garden ready for the plants from Hampton Court flower show to be planted in them on Thursday.
40 plant pots down ready for planting and then we were on bottle duty creating a daisy chain to carry out all the bottled water to give to Westminster’s homeless community this evening.
With that done there was enough time to move the big container out and ingeniously move the flower trollies over to great space for it.
Then we were off, running back up to base Perfectly to be stretched out by 8!!
See you next week for our visit to Little Venice and the Canal Plog of our adopted river path.
Enjoy
Joel

9 GoodGym Summer Runners ventured out onto the Westminster streets to deliver 450 leaflets for a Bone health fitness class for the over 55’s!
Great to have everyone along this evening!! Big shout out to the new and nearly new GoodGymers!! Hope you enjoyed your maiden Westminster voyage!!
This week we were helping Open Age who aim to combat isolation and inactivity in the over 55’s. We were delivering leaflets to promote a heavily subsidised 16 week class to improve bone health.
Running 2k up to Marylebone and get straight into action finding residential streets very close to the Seymour Street leisure centre where the class will be taking place.
Getting into a good delivering grove we managed to post 450 leaflets in 40 minutes!! With 7 minutes to spare we added a little body weight fitness fun to the party and crushed some tough strength inducing exercises to balance out the endurance fun.
With just enough time for a Regents Park route back to base with 5k under our belts for the evening!!
Thanks for coming along and hope you enjoyed yourselves! Look forward to seeing you next week for our visit to One Big Family Homeless charity in Victoria.
Enjoy
