Tonight, 14 of us met ready to get stuck in and mulch the trees in Walpole Park.
Keen to get started, we entered the Rickyard to collect the tools. But alas, we'd been left lots of wheelbarrows but no shovels! So what did we do? Go home? NO WAY! We gathered up various buckets and plastic plant pots and we improvised the hell out of this task!
We scooped and bundled mulch into the barrows by any means possible and after an hour of hard work we'd mulched a few of the key trees at the top of the park.
It was an excellent workout. We had lots of lifting and even running between the mulch site and where the trees were.

Helen G earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Helen completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Helen was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

On Tuesday, we had a great turnout, with 17 GoodGymers coming together (at a distance!) to help out at the Transition garden. We also welcomed first timer Francesca and celebrated Milly's 100 deeds milestone!
With lots to be done, we all chose our tools and set to work, chopping, pruning the hedges and pulling out brambles. Lots of work needed, but they were no match for us and we soon had a huge pile of trimmings and cuttings to show for our efforts!
It's true, time does fly when you're having fun - an hour down and we could have kept going, but the call of dinner, or a take-away pint and the fading sunshine meant we called it time for today.
