GG Woking run to Church
We would like to welcome a new member to our group run Sally , we hope you enjoyed your first GoodGym Woking experience and we didn't frighten you to much and you will be back for some more.
This weeks group run took place at all saints parish hall. We have been there a few times before to help revamp the hall. In the past we have painted and sanded the entrance hallway skirting boards and have also managed to sand and paint the entire hall skirting boards. This time we were on to door frames in the hall. As we had a good turn out we had Connor and myself outside ashing the windows.
We had a little bit of an extra run due to our change of starting place which added an extra 1km each way. We managed a 7km run in total. With Helen meeting us there after running from the different direction and Wayne meeting us in the woods (sounds a little creepy).
We managed to complete our tasks - yet again! A big well done and thank you to everyone who came. We did find out that Connor cannot throw a stick in the right direction!
A big Good luck to Lou who is heading down to Dorset on Friday and will be taking part in White Star Running's East Farm Frolic. A 10km on the Saturday followed by a 12hr Frolic on the Sunday!!! Impressive!!!
Next Week
We are heading to Brockhill - who knows what they have planned for us!!

GoodGym Woking helping out with Basingstoke Canal
This week we had a new organisation who needed a helping hand from Woking GG Members. Basingstoke Canal are always looking for volunteers to help maintain the canal and we had the job of helping keep the pathways clear of rubbish. The Canal Centre supplied us with litter picking grabbers, bin bags and gloves so we had no excuses.
We set off from Woking Leisure Centre towards the canal and got to work just near the WWF part of the canal (3 bridges). Its amazing what people drop whilst along the canal, its a shame and shouldn't be left for others to tidy up. As everyone did such a great job, Nick treated them to a accumulator set with shuttle runs. Check out our Facebook page for videos and photos for evidence.
Good Luck
To Wayne who has signed up to Beat Boxhill 5km which at the end of September - a mile going down hill sounds delightful, not sure of the uphill section! Also I stupidly signed up to Redbull Quick Sand which is only a couple of weeks away..... its only a mile, but looks hard!!
Next Week
We will be heading to All Saints Church Parish Hall for some decorating.

tell me about it stud...
With a few GG members off on their summer holidays it meant a few less but we still completed our good deed. Tonight's task was to deliver some leaflets for Woking Hospice, this was to help spread the word about their upcoming midnight walk and their outdoor cinema showing 'Grease'.
This week we welcomed Brett, a new GG member and what a handy member he will be, especially when it comes to the decorating task. Welcome Brett and we hope you enjoyed your first group run!
Setting off from our usual starting point of Woking leisure centre we set off to deliver the leaflets, setting off in two teams we managed hand out the leaflets in no time at all. We then headed to Woking Park for a Nick and Holly bootcamp special. Holly on core and Nick on press up variations. From crunchies to archer press ups.
Next week
We are heading to the canal to help clean up. Meet at Woking Leisure Centre as usual, we are being provided with everything you need so just bring yourself and maybe a friend!

Which Way??
Two Woking GG Teams take on the whole of Kingsmoor Park Development
Last nights action took place in a new housing development in Woking. Joseph from Thames Valley Housing called on our help to help deliver 3 different leaflets to each house in the development. First we all got to enjoy a 3km jog to the development, it was a beautiful scenic route. I had no idea where I was for most the way there but it was nice to enjoy what Woking had to offer.
We arrived in the development, Joseph gave us an introduction and explained what the leaflets were aiming to do. It's very much building a community in such a new development. We split ourselves into two teams, each with a map and many leaflets we got to work. We managed to cover every house and flat and met some lovely people, cats and dogs along the way.
We are already booked in for two more good deeds with Kingsmoor, the next one will be in September and we will be at their allotment helping out.
After a shorter return journey back to Woking Leisure Center we managed to cover over 7km. And even with some cheeky Blackberry picking along the way.
Well Done every one for helping us manage to complete another Good Deed for Woking GoodGym. Remember to spread the word to your friends and drag them a long.
